Slingbox SOLO Installation

1. Connect Your Audio/Video Sources

  • The Slingbox™ SOLO can connect to one High Definition (HD) device or one Standard Definition (SD) device such as a DVR, Cable Box, Satellite Receiver or DVD Player.

2. Connect the Remote Control IR Cable (IR-Blaster)

  • The infrared (IR) sensor is on the front of your a DVR, Cable Box, Satellite Receiver or DVD Player, usually behind a dark, sometimes reddish plastic window.
  • Plug the IR Blaster cable into the Slingbox SOLO. Position the IR emitter in front of the video device's IR Sensor.

3. Connect To Your Network

  • Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the Slingbox connection labeled NETWORK. Connect the other end to your home network's router.
  • The Slingbox works with any high-speed Internet connection or broadband home network.
  • Note: You must have a router to use the Slingbox.

4. Connect Power Source

  • The lights blink a few times as the Slingbox starts up.
  • The network light remains on if your Slingbox has been recognized by your router as a new device on your network.
  • Both the power and network lights should be solid.

5. Download supplied SlingPlayer software

  • Run the Installation Wizard.

6. Congratulations!

  • You are now ready to enjoy your television entertainment on your PC, Mac, or compatible mobile phone/PDA—located at home or 3,000 miles away—via the Internet.
